A Birthday Card

I decided to use my very neglected patterned paper and did not go near my watercolour paper tonight! This PP is one of my favourites and every scrap is saved as I love all the patterns in this MME The Sweetest Thing which I've had forever and use very sparingly!! I was inspired by Lizzie's Make It Monday #210 - Using vellum to soften patterned paper. I decided to use also use the PTI Doodlie Doo stamp set to stamp a patterned vellum with white EP. Here is my card which was very quick to put together! I've also used this week's Retro Sketch #162. Thanks for dropping by!

A Rose for Mother's Day

Here is another card I made for Mother's Day. I used distress inks to colour wash the background, then die cut a stitched square. I added a rose and the embossed sentiment on vellum. The last finishing touches included some sequins and pink Wink of Stella. I'm adding this card to this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #120 and Papertrey Ink's April Blog Hop (inspiration photo below). Thanks for dropping by!

Clean and Simple White Card

This card was made inspired by PTI Make It Monday #209 - White on White. This was an easy card to make, all white on white with one flower highlighted. I love the look of it and could not resist adding this unsual sentiment to it using my favourite EP from Ranger. The flower die cuts and stampset are from PTI Happiness in Bloom and the sentiment also from PTI. I also added pink wink of stella to the flower and a sequin. Now, I'll have to find the right person to give this card to! Thanks for dropping by!

HA Scramble 107

Another early Sunday morning for me as I got out of bed at 6am to participate in a Hero Arts Flickr group 90 minute scramble. Once a challenge is set, you have 90 minutes to complete a card and upload to Flickr. Fun eh? The host of today's Scramble is Cat Craig and her challenge was to make a card using your favourite technique, stamps, dies or colours. For those who follow my blogs, you will know straight away what I will choose (I feel sorry for my neglected patterned paper hoard). Watercolours! I went to an Paper Craft show yesterday and picked up some Tim Holtz watercolour paper and used that for this card I made for the scramble. I had also used my favourite HA stamp set, one of my first HA purchases and the most used! I had also picked up Mermaid Lagoon yesterday and wanted to incorporate it into the stamp. (Ranger, the ink pad is not adhered properly to the the container!!) I also combined the following Distress colours - Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Salty Ocean, Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserve. Clear Wink of Stella was added to the flowers and butterflies. It's hard to tell in the photo!
I'm adding this card to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Make Your Own  Background
Thanks for dropping by!

First Birthday

I made a very CAS first birthday card for a little boy using the sketch and colours from the latest Fusion Card Challenge - Elegance. I highlighted the sentiment and the edge of the card with silver embossing powder. The dies are from MFT Dienamics, Paper Smooches and Mama Elephant. The stamps are from Mama Elephant and Paper Smooches. Thanks for dropping by!

Wedding Pandas

Everytime I have to make a wedding card, I always get my ME Pandamonium stampset out. I based the card on this week's Retro sketch and used distressed inks for the water coloured background. Using my MISTI tool a lot nowadays and I tend to make two cards at the same time, that way I always have a spare card. Thanks for dropping by!

Watercolour Butterflies

Here is a piece of salvaged watercolour reject from yesterday's Hero Arts scramble. I was going to throw the piece away when I noticed that there were lots of unstamped areas I could use. I die cut some small butterflies from the background paper and used the current CAS(E) this sketch for inspiration. The distress colours I used were Broken China, Festive Berries, Seedless Preserve and Chipped Sapphire. I'm also adding this to Virginia's View Layers Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Happy Birthday challenge. The dies I used were from Hero Arts and MFT and the sentiment is from Darkroom Door. Thanks for dropping by!

Hero Arts Scramble

I haven't participated in a HA scramble on Flickr for a very long time now. A lot of times when I check when it is, it is normally around 4 or 5am Melbourne time! The one yesterday happened to fall on a weekend when our clocks were adjusted for daylight savings. So it ended being at 5am in the morning (but really it was 6am). Even though I slept in a bit the scramble was extended to 2 hours instead of the normal 90 minutes! Thank you Charlene for hosting the scramble. Here is my card (my second attempt) with the inspiration photo below. The distress inks I used were Broken China, Festive Berries, Seedless Preserve and Chipped Sapphire. I'm submitting this card to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Happy Birthday challenge. I'll be back later to show you how I salvaged the piece from my first attempt!

Happy Easter!

It's a beautiful Autumn weekend in Melbourne for the Easter break. Even better that I've had a bit of free time to do some stamping! I'm experimenting with my new MISTI tool and it did save me a bit of time making 7 tags and 2 cards! I love it! It will save me a lot of time making Christmas cards in bulk!
The tag was made with Mama Elephant stamp set and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. The tag die is from PTI (my favourite tag die) and the hemp from Hemptique. The basket was a bargain at $2.80 from Daiso!
The card was inspired by this card made by Kathy Racoosin during the Daily Marker 30 day colouring challenge. I've used the same Distress inks except I substituted Seedless Preserve for Dusty Concord (I don't have that colour!!) I'm adding the cards to Virginia View's Layers Challenge.

Happy Easter everyone!!

Blue for Autism Awareness

This is a very CAS card featuring the colour blue for Autism Awareness week. I've used the current Retro Sketch for inspiration with stamps from Hero Arts and Mama Elephant. I'm also adding this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Birthday ChallengeAutism Awareness Blog Hop and Virginia View's Layers challenge.
Thank you for dropping by, I'll be back later with some Easter tags!
